A TV appearance in Barcelona on El Punt-Avui …

The diet starts tomorrow (again). In the meantime, here’s a link to a ‘round table’ chat show on Barcelona’s El Punt-Avui TV that I took part in today, hosted by Matthew Tree. It’s in English. It runs for about 50 minutes, but if you have time and stick with it, you might enjoy it (you never know, you just might). After the initial introductions and mutual-backslapping bit in which we get to plug our own books etc, we then move on to Spanish politics (and loony parties), Madrid v Barcelona (not football), and in particular the international perception (if any) of the Catalan independence debate. If you stick with it even longer, we then talk about international literary awards (or why we haven’t won any), a tiny bit on The Life of Brian, immigrants & refugees versus British holidaymakers on the Greek islands, the threat of moustached men invading the UK … and finally I get to slag off The Daily Mail, which is often necessary and something I enjoyed immensely …
